The children's hospital in Bergen, Norway: a cluster of glass blocks linked by bridges, at the foot of the mountain.
Glassblokkene, 'the glass blocks', is the children's and youth hospital on the Haukeland hospital campus in Bergen. Several glass-fronted buildings connected by glazed bridges, with interiors designed for children: colour, light and play spaces on every floor.
Before returning to Mallorca, Xisco Malondra spent twelve years working in Norway. At Glassblokkene he worked in the project-management team for the interior works of a large children’s hospital, coordinating multiple contractors, finishes and work sequences under demanding programme and quality requirements.
